AI implementation for small businesses

I help business owners build AI systems that work

Most small businesses know they should be doing something with AI – but they're overwhelmed by the noise, unsure where to start, and worried about wasting money on the wrong tools.

I cut through that. I find where AI fits, build it, and make it stick.

20 years building and running businesses. Every hat a small business owner wears, I've worn it. I approach AI from an operations perspective, not a technology one.

The reality
72% of businesses are using AI. Fewer than 20% have captured meaningful value.
McKinsey Global AI Survey, 2024

The gap isn't technology. It's knowing where to start, what to prioritise, and how to implement without burning through budget on tools that don't fit.

That's where I come in. I've spent 20 years in the trenches of small business operations – growth marketing, automation, financial modelling – and now I apply that experience to AI implementation that actually works.

These are some of the problems I solve with AI

Losing a day a week to paperwork?
AI handles your invoicing, expense tracking, and document generation – so you spend time on work that actually pays.
Enquiries coming in. Nobody free to answer.
AI responds to leads instantly – qualifying them, answering FAQs, and booking calls – so you never lose a customer because you were busy serving one.
Hours on proposals. Most go nowhere.
AI drafts proposals from a brief conversation and follows up automatically. Your job becomes reviewing and sending, not starting from scratch.
Clients owe you. You owe everyone else.
Automated payment reminders run in the background. You get a weekly cash flow summary in plain English instead of chasing 15 overdue invoices.
Your team can’t do anything without asking you.
AI captures what you know and makes it available to your team – so they answer their own questions and stop interrupting you 20 times a day.
Marketing happens when you remember.
AI turns your bullet points into a month’s worth of content – social posts, emails, blog drafts – reviewed by you, published consistently.
The same 10 questions. Every. Single. Day.
An AI assistant handles the predictable queries instantly, so your team focuses on the stuff that actually needs a human.
You won’t know your numbers until it’s too late.
AI connects to your accounting software and tells you what’s happening in plain English – not a 40-page report, but a clear weekly summary.
How I help

Practical AI for small businesses

Step 1

AI Readiness Audit

I look at your operations, tools, and team – and tell you honestly where AI would save you time and money. No jargon, no fluff. You get a clear, prioritised roadmap.

Step 2

Done-For-You Automation

I build and manage AI-powered automations for your business – reminders, customer comms, scheduling, data entry. You pay a flat monthly fee. I handle everything.

Step 3

Implementation & Training

For larger teams: I design the AI strategy, implement the tools, train your people, and hand over a system that runs without me. Full documentation included.

About

I build things that work

I'm Ross – based in Forest Row, East Sussex. I've spent my career starting and running businesses, not advising from the sidelines, which is why I focus on AI that works in practice, not in theory.

I'm a new dad – my wife Emily and I recently welcomed our son Blue – and that's reshaped how I think about work. Less time, higher standards for what deserves attention. Every system I build for myself or a client has to genuinely earn its place.

When I'm not working, I'm generally outside in nature somewhere, training, or renovating our 111-year-old house. Slowly.
